To be eligible to apply for Fellowship, all Candidates must:

• • • Be a current IAIME member* in good standing
    • Hold a valid, unrestricted license to practice in their state
    • Passed the Certified Medicolegal Evaluator Examination (CMLE) with the last 5 years
    • Have attended (in-person or virtually) at least two IAIME Scientific programs within the last 3 years**

*Associate, Early Career, and Resident/Student member types can NOT become Fellows

** Approved programs for this purpose are defined as the Annual Scientific Meeting or the Midyear Conference.

Please note a non-refundable application fee of $250 is required. Submitting the application is the first step of the application process. It does not guarantee Fellow status approval.

After applying for Fellowship, all Candidates must:

• • • Complete at least one of the following methods of additional education in report writing:
      • • Attend an approved report writing course
        • Create a self-study slide show that starts with a poorly written report and shows ways to improve it
        • Receive mentorship and approval from the Board
        • Receive a waiver to the report writing educational requirement based on the recommendation of two members of the Examination and Certification Committee
    • Submit one report for evaluation*
      • The Examination and Certification Committee will review the report using the Report Review Rubric and make comments on how the report might be improved.
    • Obtain a letter of recommendation from a current IAIME Fellow (this recommendation can be provided by a member of the Examination and Certification committee who reviewed the Candidate’s report)

*Candidates may be asked to submit additional reports

Once approved, to maintain Fellowship status you must:

• • • Pay annual dues
      • $495 Fellows
      • $395 International Fellows
    • Attend at least one IAIME educational meeting every three years
    • Renew CMLE certification every 5 years
    • Maintain a current, active, and unrestricted professional license
